Clip Timeline v1.1.0

Video & audio clip-timeline 7 actions MCP

Put the shots of a short film in order. Load a zip or folder of clips (numbered shots land on the timeline in order, extras wait in the bin), drag to reorder, trim, replace or remove shots, add transitions (46 effects, or spread them automatically by scene change), vary shot lengths with Scene dynamism (never cutting into loud sound), lay music/voice on two audio lanes, preview it all live and render one mp4.

The omniscient:// link needs a protocol handler on your machine, which is not built yet. Until then it does nothing — use the commands below.

Actions

Import clips

import

Import a zip, folder or single video into a timeline project. Numbered shots (Shot_01, 012 ...) go on the timeline in order; unnumbered clips go to the bin. Zips are extracted (videos only) into the app's data folder.

Inputs

NameTypeRequired / defaultValues and notes
source path required
project path optional, default ""
append bool optional, default false
name string optional, default ""
place enum optional, default auto autoallbin
media_dir path optional, default ""

Outputs

NameTypeNotes
project path
on_timeline int
bin_only int

Show timeline order

order

List the clips of a project (default: the last opened one) in film order with start times.

Inputs

NameTypeRequired / defaultValues and notes
project path optional, default ""

Outputs

NameTypeNotes
clips json
duration float

Render film

render

Render the timeline to one mp4 with its trims, transitions (ffmpeg xfade, centred on the cuts) and mixed audio lanes. A plain timeline in one shared format is joined losslessly instead.

Inputs

NameTypeRequired / defaultValues and notes
project path optional, default ""
out path optional, default ""
resolution enum optional, default source source1080p720pverticalsquare
reencode bool optional, default false

Outputs

NameTypeNotes
file path
clips int
duration float

Export numbered clips

export_clips

Copy the timeline's clips into a folder as '001 - Shot 12.mp4', '002 - ...' in film order.

Inputs

NameTypeRequired / defaultValues and notes
project path optional, default ""
folder path required

Outputs

NameTypeNotes
folder path
count int

Auto transitions

auto_transitions Destructive

Spread transitions over the film: stronger ones (fade through black, circle...) at detected scene changes, soft short ones inside a scene.

Inputs

NameTypeRequired / defaultValues and notes
project path optional, default ""
style enum optional, default mixed gentlemixedplayful
cuts enum optional, default every everysceneevery2every3
duration float optional, default 0.8
fade_in bool optional, default true
fade_out bool optional, default true
replace bool optional, default true
seed int optional

Outputs

NameTypeNotes
placed int
scene_changes int

Scene dynamism

scene_dynamism Destructive

Shave a random 0..max_trim seconds off each shot's start and end where the sound is quiet, so shots are not all the same length; loud sound near an edge limits the trim.

Inputs

NameTypeRequired / defaultValues and notes
project path optional, default ""
max_trim float optional, default 1.0
seed int optional
reset bool optional, default false

Outputs

NameTypeNotes
before float
after float
limited_by_sound int

Add audio to a lane

add_audio Destructive

Put a music or voice-over file on audio lane A1 (0) or A2 (1) at a film time.

Inputs

NameTypeRequired / defaultValues and notes
project path optional, default ""
audio path required
lane int optional, default 0
start float optional, default 0.0
volume float optional, default 1.0
fade_in float optional, default 0.0
fade_out float optional, default 0.0

Outputs

NameTypeNotes
added json
