Folder Structure v1.0.0

Files & backup folder-structure 2 actions MCP

Create a folder/file tree from a text or JSON spec (indented tree, or nested JSON), and the reverse: snapshot a real folder into a spec you can edit and recreate elsewhere.

The omniscient:// link needs a protocol handler on your machine, which is not built yet. Until then it does nothing — use the commands below.

Create structure

create Destructive

Build folders and files under a destination from a spec: an indented tree (plain or box-drawn) or a nested JSON object. Existing files are left alone unless overwrite is on. Use --dry-run to preview.

Inputs

NameTypeRequired / defaultValues and notes
spec_file path optional, default ""
spec_text text optional, default ""
format enum optional, default auto autojsontree
dest path required
overwrite_files bool optional, default false

Outputs

NameTypeNotes
dest path
folders int
files int
skipped int
plan json

Snapshot folder

snapshot

Walk a folder and write its shape as a tree-text or JSON spec file, ready to edit or recreate elsewhere. Never modifies the folder being read.

Inputs

NameTypeRequired / defaultValues and notes
folder path required
out path optional, default ""
format enum optional, default tree treejson
include_files bool optional, default true
max_depth int optional, default 0

Outputs

NameTypeNotes
spec text
file path
entries int

Use it

Create structure

Command line

shell
python app.py --action create --params '{"dest": "D:/path/to/dest"}'

# preview first - destructive action, nothing is changed:
python app.py --action create --params '{"dest": "D:/path/to/dest"}' --dry-run

Run from the app’s own folder. Single quotes work in bash and PowerShell; in cmd.exe use double quotes and escape the inner ones.

MCP tool

mcp
run_action("folder-structure", "create", {"dest": "D:/path/to/dest"})

# preview first:
run_action("folder-structure", "create", {"dest": "D:/path/to/dest"}, dry_run=true)

Workflow node

json
{
  "id": "n0",
  "app": "folder-structure",
  "action": "create",
  "params": {
    "dest": "D:/path/to/dest"
  },
  "inputs": {}
}
