Screen to GIF v1.0.0

Video & audio gif-capture 2 actions MCP

Record a rectangular screen region, or the whole desktop, straight to an animated GIF via ffmpeg's gdigrab capture and its palettegen/paletteuse pipeline - no intermediate video file.

The omniscient:// link needs a protocol handler on your machine, which is not built yet. Until then it does nothing — use the commands below.

Record a region to GIF

Command line

shell
python app.py --action capture --params '{"x": 1, "y": 1, "width": 1, "height": 1, "duration_seconds": 1.0}'

Run from the app’s own folder. Single quotes work in bash and PowerShell; in cmd.exe use double quotes and escape the inner ones.

MCP tool

mcp
run_action("gif-capture", "capture", {"x": 1, "y": 1, "width": 1, "height": 1, "duration_seconds": 1.0})
